We are experiencing the following production issues, and we have solutions for all of them... however, these things take time and we do not want to ship product that isn't absolutely spot-on.
Issue 1: (We're calling this "they switched the switch" issue) The DNA 30 board sits about 10 thousandths of an inch higher than the DNA20 due to a higher placement of the on-board firing switch. Unfortunately, the throw of the switch is LESS than the additional height, and when assembled, the PV fires all the time.... which of course, never gives you a break from vaping, so it's a pretty big deal. The solution is tricky... we have had to re-manufacture the switch lever so it adds the needed clearance. It's good that we have the machinery here in house to do that without having to make new prints, send them out and wait. As the parts are completed we put them right onto the PV... it could have been a delay of weeks, instead, it's a couple days to get through them all. So... that's good news, right? The BIGGER issue is with the launch day limited editions. THOSE need to have the switches sent out for metal finishing after they are done, and that will take a couple extra days. Launch day limited should be shipping by mid-week next week.
Issue 2: ALL BATTERIES do not have the exact same dimensions. We knew that, of course, but our mechanical reverse battery protection was counting on them being a little closer than they actually are. This has resulted in having to redo the battery connector on nearly every unit produced so far. The units are fine except for that issue. It's not good to ship a PV that works on "most" AW 1490IMR batteries... it has to work on ALL AW IMR batteries.
So, what this means is the inevitable delays are actually going to happen, we wish they were not going to, but they are. You don't want a product that isn't right, and we don't want to have you angry when there's an issue... we would MUCH rather have you angry that you have to wait, because once the wait is over, it's over... and you can go on with the business of enjoying the product, instead of wondering if you got "the one" that will have issues. We want there to be NONE that have issues. As consumers, you deserve nothing less.
The team is working long and hard on getting these out the door, and your patience is very much appreciated. When things are running smooth, I will ALSO let you know that everything is on track.
One other thing... Phone calls to the dealers and to me absolutely don't help. They make it much harder to get the job done. We understand that you really want one, but please understand that I don't want you to have one that isn't as perfect as I can possibly make it.
THANKS FOR YOUR PATIENCE...
Zen~
